Abode Massage was conceived and built on the wild shores of Tasmania.

Being long time lovers of massage ourselves, we each felt drawn to study our diploma and it was at our massage training that we met one another. We have since become partners in life and in business.

We have operated our business in Tasmania for the past 10 years until we made the big leap in early 2024, packing up our home and our lives to move to Victoria.

Our family now call Bentleigh East home, and we look forward to welcoming clients through the doors of our new clinic.

We built our business to be uniquely Tasmanian. Boutique. Quality. Sensory. Gentle on the environment.
We aim to bring these qualities to our new clinic and practice, giving you a "touch of Tasmania", right here in Bentleigh East.

the abode team
caroline
she/her
founder and therapist
Caroline qualified as a remedial massage therapist in 2014, having previously worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of specialties.
Caroline has wide ranging professional interests and enjoys studying to add new skills and knowledge to her tool belt. Her background in Intensive Care Nursing leads her to seek evidence-based therapies and practices to ensure the best outcomes for her clients, especially with regards to complex pain conditions.
Caroline has always enjoyed sports, and having been a rower throughout her youth, she understands the demands of high-level sport on the body. She enjoys working with athletes at all levels and has massaged international tennis players, NPL level soccer players and youth academy players. She is a passionate follower of soccer, especially the women’s game (Go Chelsea!).
Caroline also particularly enjoys working with clients who have experienced trauma and has personally experienced how massage therapy can assist and bring relief to those who have been impacted by trauma. As the parent of a young daughter with disabilities, Caroline also has special interests in neurodivergence, and working with people who have disabilities.
The demands of life can leave many people feeling drained and stressed, and nothing makes Caroline feel more satisfied than seeing her clients walking away feeling more relaxed, refreshed and comfortable than when they arrived in her clinic.

founder and therapist
Andrew attained his diploma in remedial massage in 2014. He has had an interest in massage for several years prior, and the opportunity to study came in 2013 in Launceston, Tasmania. He grew up in Central Victoria and has lived in Gippsland, Ballarat, and Melbourne before moving to Tasmania in 2007.
He met his wife Caroline via the massage course, and they have had their own massage practice since 2015. Returning to Melbourne in January 2024 to pursue an opportunity for their child to progress in soccer, he is now excited to be commencing work again.
Andrew also has diverse professional interests and enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and tailoring treatment pressure and styles to meet the needs of each individual at each session.
He is looking forward to the increased professional education opportunities available in Victoria, and the opportunity to continue building upon his knowledge and skill base.
Andrew loves his soccer, strumming a guitar and has recently become a gym enthusiast.

our logo

Our logo depicts the Tasmanian Fagus (nothofagus gunii), and is based on artwork done by Caroline.

Being Tasmania's only native deciduous species, it puts on a stunning display of autumnal colours in alpine Tasmania every autumn. Many people embark on an annual pilgrimage to take in the natural beauty of this wonderous species.

The fagus plant provides some beautiful symbolism as an emblem for our business. The species is incredibly resilient, existing in extremely harsh conditions. It is ever-changing throughout the seasons, and is a wonderful reminder of beauty and evolution through the different stages of life. It is also a reminder to allow ourselves flow with the natural rhythms of life and to stop and appreciate the beautiful moments that life offers up.
